Android icon badge not clearing

Please provide the following:

  1. SDK Version: 35
  2. Platforms(Android/iOS/web/all): Android

Please can someone assist me in clearing the push notification badge when the user opens the app?
The icon notification badge clears when the app is opened from the notification tray but not when opening the app directly?

Please let me know if I need to elaborate more.
