Disable (or mute) push notifications within the app on a specific screen

I am developing a real-time messaging application and was wondering if it is possible to disable notifications when the user is on the conversation screen as it is a bad user experience to receive the same message twice (in the chat and as a notification). I noticed that there are already similar questions but they have no answer, has something changed with the new versions of expo?

Hey @niccolocase, are you referring to disabling notifications from displaying while in-app or from appearing at the OS-level? (Notif tray/center)
