Is being in the lock screen the same as being in the backgroud? I’m building an app that needs audio at least when the screen is locked, not necessarily when the app is in the background and am trying to figure out if I’d need to eject to get audio in the lock screen.
On iOS, I believe background audio is treated the same whether or not the device is locked. I’m not sure of the specifics for Android.
I’d recommend making a small demo project to experiment with playing background audio and seeing if it does what you need it to do.
