My app displays Google Maps correctly during development. But when I build a standalone app, it shows a gray area instead of the map. What can be the problem? Thanks

You will need to grab your Google App Signing SHA1 or SHA256 from Google Play and enter it into your google cloud platform API section. Wait 10 min and it should run.
If this is a standalone simulator / side loaded device build, you will also need to enter your upload key signed SHA hashes into the google cloud platform
