How to increase speech rate while speaking?

Hi,

I see that there is a function to set the rate at which text to be read.
I have created a function to increase/decrease the rate based on the user clicks. But, it does not reflect immediately. It reflects when the user plays the text next time.
Is there any function which would increase/decrease the speech rate even when the text is being read aloud?

There isn’t a way to do this with the current APIs.
You could experiment with sending words one at a time to the API so the “next time” would come sooner. This might make the speech patterns sound weird though.
