Images look different when running expo start vs expo publish

Hi there, I noticed images in my app that use resizeMode=‘center’ are different sizes when I run expo start versus expo publish.

When i run my app with expo start (or as a snack), I get the screenshot on the left. When I publish the same app, I get the screenshot on the right. Any reason why this would be the case?
