Send push notifications in standalone app

Greetings,

I have built an Android version of my application and I want to integrate push notifications.
I followed those docs: Using FCM for Push Notifications - Expo Documentation step by step and I couldn’t know from where to send the push notifications. It is also mentioned that this works only on Android, is there any other way to do it on IOS? Is there anything missing?
