Trigger a Notification Listener when app is on background

Hi,
I’m working on a notification badge feature and I’m trying to “listen” to incoming notifications when the app is on background. I’ve searched in the documentation and found that expo dont support this yet. Is there another way to trigger a listener when the app is on background?
