I am new here and just installed the EXPO App on my computer (Mac). It shows the EXPO as a separate disk, like a flash drive? any reason why it is doing that?

This is just how DMG installers work on mac. You can “eject” it after you’ve installed the app. Learn more here: macos - How do software .dmg files mount or work in OS X? - Super User
