BarcodeScanner - Possible to enable touch to focus?

I’m utilising the expo library to make an app that uses the barcode scanner. The library has really helped simplify the process for me, However on certain phones I feel I need to be able to let the user touch to focus.

Is there any way I can edit anything to get this to work? I would use another scanning library for this particular project but would much rather not eject my app from expo.
