Can't import images into expo's assets

So I’ve tried using the import feature in the file management system provided by the snack interface and I cannot get it to import a png.

I tried using the import button for png and jpeg files, neither of which worked. I then saw that it said I could use it to import JavaScript files, so I gave that a try. Importing a JavaScript file works fine, which leads me to believe there is another way to import a local file. Please help me figure out how to import a simple image s I can continue working on my app.
